I'm not much help in this regard, but as I recall, there WAS a fair bit about him in Vive la Revolution by Mark Steel (hilarious book, a few errors, but overall worth the read). I have Peter Weiss's play Marat/Sade, but I haven't gotten around to reading it as yet, so I can't vouch for the quality.
