New-ish book out.

I was wondering if anyone here has read 'The First Total War, Napoleon's Europe and the Birth of Modern Warfare', by David A. Bell? It's new out (paperback this month), and, despite the title, the first half is about the Enlightenment and the Revolution: the review I came across yesterday (on the Guardian or Independent's websites) began by quoting Robespierre with approval, which is a bit of novelty (that 'armed missionaries' quote turns up everywhere at the mo, esp. in N.American politics). It sounds like an interesting (if uncomfortable) take on the Revolution and the current war/world situation (as in, can we blame Brissot for Iraq?).
