I really liked this. Not that there wasn't a lot of interesting information in Charlotte's memoirs, but I found these more interesting and, as Laurel pointed out, more readable. I could envision a lot of what Babet was describing, actually. XD
Her marriage to Le Bas seems quite sudden, written here. O.o Although I suppose there was more to it, especially since (except for the portion where he actually states his intention of marrying her) she doesn't really go in-depth on their prior conversations and the like. Still, though, it all makes me go, "Aw." :3 ♥ So does how caring Maxime was towards Babet.
Babet does like to use the word 'good' to describe people, especially Maxime, doesn't she? XD

And as Laurel also pointed out, all the stuff that relates to the family dynamics, day-to-day life, etc. is very awesome and interesting.
