I won't spoil the plot so you can enjoy the series. It's a great, interesting and beautiful anime, but characters and History are used very freely. You can even see Arc du Triomphe in a prerevolutionary Paris. XDDD
Just keep in mind that maybe that one is not the Robespierre in who you are thinking in...
