Well, there are a couple. As I'm in Paris, I've been making assorted Revolutionary pilgrimages. The Expiatory Chapel was just in there because I felt I needed to take photos for my Revolutionary France albums (it is related, after all) and I had a friend with me who didn't get why I was offended by it. Another common one is I like to go to Les Delices de Manon, the fab. patisserie that is currently in the Duplay's home. I go there with friends from time to time and I mention I found it because I was going to find the house where Robespierre lived. That then leads to weirded out looks and at best questions of why I care (if they don't know who he is) and extreme weirded out looks if they have a vague idea based on pop culture that he was an evil dictator that slaughtered half of France. When I correct them and explain a bit, about half of the people say "Oh, alright" and actually think a little better of him. The other half seem to think I'm a Nazi apologist. But for the most part no one cares too much.
