I'm just now watching the sad show. I had no idea earlier that I would hate Schama this much. Not only from a fandom point of view, this (history) is my subject of studying and hopefully future profession and I support the "stick to the facts" school which opposes historians starting to preach and making moral judgements. And that is exactly, what Schama is doing. Worse, he is telling us what sort of thinking is evil!

I'm only in part 4, and apart from bad characterization would like to oppose the simplification of the political events and parties involved. They didn't mention Gironde or other parties- even when talking about the civil war in Lyon. Constotutional monarchist? Philippe "Egalite" Orleans and other former nobility? Hebertistes? Why aren't the last ones never mentioned anyway? This document could actually make uneducated public believe that Robespierre, emo St Just and the good British type Carnot both started and ended the Revolution single handedly!
