I'm 100% sure that Rousseau never personally tutored Maxime. I don't think I've even read half as extensively on him as many other people around here, but I definitely have read enough to know that it would have come up somewhere in my research by now if he had. I agree with cachecache - that user definitely isn't a fan of Maxime (nor does she appear to have much of an interest in the French Revolution in general, just judging from the kind of history-inspired icons she uses), and as such, I wouldn't trust her word against what you and all of the rest of us have read.
...Damn, her 'historical failure' comment is bugging me. But I don't trust myself to respond to it without getting...er...very, very rude, shall we say. XD;
