Hello

I've been watching this community for about three weeks or so
I recently became interested in french revolutionaries (particularly Robespierre >_<)
but since I don't live in the states .. I can't get useful books on french revolution
It's so sad......I have to wait for like six weeks for my books ( i had to make special order T T)

Unfortunately, I don't have anything to show you except badly drawn picture

I never knew Robespierre was so humane before doing some research (you know what textbooks say)
although my friend says "[i] only like Robespierre because he's as evil as [I am]" -_-;;;

ps. I tried photobucket hopefully it shows. hopefully........

Welcome!

Unfortunally, it seems you didn't upload the picture right, if you need a place to do it, photobucket.com is really good for that

It could be it, but sometimes LJ is just a pain! It usually accepts PB! Best of luck! I'd really like to see it!

Hi! If you haven't found them already, there are some speeches/books online. This is a link (I hope it comes out OK in this post) to a site with extracts from several speeches by Robespierre and other revolutionaries and the philosophers who influenced them, in English translations, which you may find useful. http://www.marxists.org/reference/index.htm . I think it has the whole of Rousseau's 'Social Contact' up there! Click on the names and it will bring up a menu with a list of works. There are also some books online with Google books by 19th century historians - though a lot of them are quite hostile to the revolution - and parts of other books - if I can find the links again I'll post them up here.

I'm new here too. And I don't live in the USA either. (I'm hungarian).
I can suggest library and internet. If you put Robespierre or other revolutionaires's names to google, you can find very good sites. Or look around in this community:)
I don't know french revolution books were translated to Korean...but in Hungary there are some good books too. I don't use to often find useful book in hungarian also....

But there are some French Revolution things you can read specifically in Korean!

Are you familiar with the Korean manga "Thermidor" by Hyerin Kim? The author's website is here (http://kimhyerin.com/), you can check it out.

Have you seen the movie "Danton"? He looks like he's in his 50s there.
