What is Maxime's full name anyhow?

I keep reading it as Maximilien François Marie Isidore de Robespierre in french or otherwise(in books..and on the internet..) and i just want to stick to that. I even wrote in books to fix his name because it irked me so much..
...I keep seeing too many variations of it..usually without the François; I'm just ubberly wondering about it. What is his correct full name?

Does he even have one? O.o so many questions i know!

Is there some kind of conspiracy going on there also? (and i gotta finish making my Maxime doll some clothes..though he looks fine naked xD ahh lazyness)

Usually, the correct name is considered to be "Maximilien François Marie Isidore de Robespierre", as you think.

Yes, I don't know exactly why but there are some sources that change his name, especially the "François"... Is quite irritating, with Saint-Just there is the same problem. Could it all be because they didn't write their full name when they were born? :S

In case of St.Just, the reasons are quite different: he himself used different names (Léon and Florelle) in addition to those he was given at birth. It's said that it was motivated either by artistic aspirations or by the will to create confussion so he could get elected in spite of his low age, or both.

Yes, that's true! I have heard that "Florelle" was his artistic name... But it could be a way to create confussion as soy say! Who knows :D

Maelicia posted a photo of his birth record from an exhibition in Arras last year - the page was worn (years of fingers poking at the ink on that line!) but it looks like "Maximilien Marie Isidore Derobespierre" - the 'de' was dropped, but I notice when you look stuff up on the Bibliotheque Nationale online database, they still use the 'de' (snobs!). I'm not sure where the Francois comes from - his father was called Francois, so maybe the name was added, dropped, or simply missed out on the birth notice (Elvis' middle name is misspelled on his birth certificate!). If anyone has seen the documents under which Robespierre was elected at various times, I presume they'd be definitive as to his exact name (well, in Britain it always causes much amusement when candidate's full middle names are read out at elections!).

i was just wondering you know about that. Not everyone could of been just right all the time or wrong all the time about his name. I didn't know that about Elvis either xd Yes Maxime and the KING xD kidding of course.

But maybe. But that's a lot of digging to do. I rather like his whole name even the DE part of it. Because that was his name..like i don't like my whole name either..-_-
