In the news all week here has been the sale of two Titians by some aristo which the British taxpayer is - it seems - going to have to buy off him for the 'bargain' price of £100 million. This has, however, given the chance for people to raise the point about the source of the aristo's wealth - the Highland Clearances (not that pointing this out is going to make the tiniest bit of difference...).
