We got em! In answer to the previous post (sorry, I don't seem able to stick a picture into a post on that discussion thread), here's a panel from the French comic 'Requiem Chevalier Vampire' Tome 1. Guess who's a vampire in vampire world! Yeah, you guessed right.

As far as I know, it's just this one panel, though I haven't read the rest of the comics/BDs yet

WHOAAAAA. That is hot fabulous. I love the outfit at the back and the whole imagery and theme of the comic. I hope the rest of this comic comes out soon.

FFFF I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING.

Well, at least he doesn't sparkle.

I'd hit it.

Really?! I don't like looking at it at all. I think I'd feel the same way if the figure in the forefront were anonymous, or an original character. It just makes me feel "EEEK!"

I wasn't being serious. :'( But um, yes. It's quite disturbing and hilarious, considering that it's supposed to be Maxime.

Attila de Dracula...you know, although neighbour countries, Hungary is not Rumania, and 5th century is not 15th century ;-) Anyway, if someone can call an anti-slavery fighter "président de la bourse aux esclaves"...

...Not to mention making him a crazed, red-eyed vampire.

This does not seem like anti-establishment to me ;-) Making a vampire (Lucifer, Sea-Green monster, pussyfooting tyrant) out of Robespierre is a long tradition of British mainstream culture, isn't it?
Moreover, someone who'd like the Enragés would hardly reproach him his "revolutionary zeal" ;-)

Then, what a pity...I thought the left to right drift has begun to cease, but it seems endless ;-)

I cannot stop asking myself why do people who love Sade the maid-killer, hate the revolutionary justice so much? ;-)

uhuhuh...that's creepy allegoric pornography. Poor Saint-Just, he is attributed the creepiest quotes ever. Though as far as I know, Mirabeau's one is supposed to be: "Une nation ne se regénère que sur des monceaux de cadavres." Which is rather different, though, with Mirabeau and the Thermidorians (it appears in the Thermidorian play maelicia has found, said by "a friend of St.Just"), one never knows.

I just can't convince myself to see the fun of it...;-)
Anyway, being vampires so erotic and fashionable, I'd suggest a series of "Jacobin Vampire Club, drinking your blood since 1789". A non-aristo and very virtuous version, though.

They could feed off animals and sparkle too. ...the sparkles would make it look like Rose of Versailles, but whatever.

It's a very tragic dilemma, because if they feed off aristos, it still sounds like royalist/thermidorian propaganda. Not to say that it wouldn't be very erotic -- for me, anyway.

From: [identity profile] sibylla-oo.livejournal.com
:DDD Poor boys, they really don't deserve this...
It's a dilemma. I would not oblige them to feed on aristos either, imagine all the diseases they could catch from the debauched and degenerated blood. Syphilis is neither virtous nor erotic, is it, Mirabeau?

From: [identity profile] maelicia.livejournal.com
Aw, I'm sure Robespierre at least would appreciate the sparkles... he may be the only one to, as well. :DDD

But Collot with sparkles -- now that's a funny thing to imagine.

Yes. Ew. :/ At least they didn't have AIDS, but syphilis = not pretty. D:

From: [identity profile] sibylla-oo.livejournal.com
Hahaha...sparkling Jacobins are beyond my imagination. Though Collot must have used sparling material when he was an actor...Anyway, I can't see Lindet or Jean Bon Saint-André sparkling, though...Or Carnot, hahaha...

However, it's old business:

Yes, yes: Robespiere, with only one 'r'.

It's really the only possible explanation. Well, that and maybe they thought "Robespiere" with one "r" rhymed better with "vampire"? Which makes one wonder how they pronounce "Robespiere". XDDD

Though the vampire seems to be a sort of "good guy" there and a very masculine one, ideed, interested in "young, voluptuous women from a small town"... :D

Now that seriously killed me! That's so FUN. Do you have more like that?
BTW, I see that in his "reckless youth" Carnot was not sparkling yet, as he would not go unnoticed even in the dark :D

Date: 2009-09-06 05:57 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] maelicia.livejournal.com
That would be because it was long before Carnot even becomes a random bad-toothed creepo British chap who really should have sparkled.

And I've got a few more here, mixed up with other things which aren't necessarily crack!stories: http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=maelicia&keyword=Crack+fics+and+anecdotes&filter=all :DDD

I blame thermidorian propaganda and all the crappy books and "sources of information". At one point, the nonsense just goes up to your brain. Not to say, the unimaginable (and always renewed!) level of nonsense they can come up with!

It's the only theraphy, see how this discussion actually degenerated to the most silly laughter, because the reality is so hard to bear. I mean, if a LEFTIST author produces THIS (I am referring to the comics), we can either blow our brains out like Le Bas, or giggle like madmen. I still have things to live for, so I prefer the second option.

I do too =/ Living is quite fun but this comic is making it hard..at least i have something in therapy to talk about xD lmao. So giggle away!

I have just finished two of them: C'est la faute à Rousseau and the one on Furet. *can't stop laughing, though with bitterness* The one on Furet would cause rage - in the positive sense- in certain circles! It's so enormously fun! And, in fact, it's a nice post-mortem homage to Soboul!
If you are interested in my comments, tell me where to post them (private message?)
